As we bid 2020 goodbye, it's a perfect time to reflect on the lessons learned this year. Hopefully this year has taught us patience, resilience and how important it is to wash our hands! I'm so proud of the way Club Royale residents have come together through this pandemic. With the vaccine close on the horizon I hope we continue the kindness I've seen throughout 2020. Our celebrations may be smaller this year, and most of us will be ringing in the New Year at home, but I think we all deserve to celebrate getting through this year. More than ever before, I wish you all health and happiness in 2021!
The week started with a crazy end of the season storm, Hurricane Eta. Lots of wind and rain, but luckily no major damage to our area. Believe it or not, there is another storm still on the horizon that appears to be following the same course as Eta. Hopefully it will blow past us as well.
Due to all the rain, the golf course turned on that loud, obnoxious pump again. We had to once again contact code enforcement. It is off again for the time being, but if it does come back on I would ask that you call Palm Beach County Code Enforcement at 561-233-5500 to complain. It's primarily impacting building 1 and the west end of building 2. The notice for the budget meeting went out today...stay tuned to the website for the zoom id so you can attend the meeting by phone or computer! Have a great (and hopefully dry) weekend! Just a reminder, the invoices for 4th quarter maintenance went out today. Please feel free to use the mail slot in the office door, unless there is something you need to purchase from us or you need a receipt. We are still keeping the door locked as much as possible due to Covid. I know we are all so tired of the masks and social distancing, but we value everyone’s health so much! Whatever we can do to stay healthy until this pandemic is over...please continue wearing your masks and following all the social distancing guidelines as we move into phase 2. Thanks and stay well!!
Great news! The resurfacing of the pool is complete, and the pool is now open to swimmers. We are still practicing social distancing, so we ask that you continue to adhere to the guidelines. Our spa will remain closed due to the inability to socially distance per Palm Beach County recommendations.
We have replaced the worn out blue umbrellas with fresh sand colored market umbrellas, and the coping of the pool has been painted to match. Check out the beautiful blue LED lights at night as well...I will post photos later this week! I know many of us are feeling scared, overwhelmed, and just plain unsure what to believe about this pandemic. We have been told many different things over the past few months, and it has been frustrating to say the least. Currently, Palm Beach County is requiring masks to be worn in all public areas. This means that while in the lobbies, elevators, clubhouse or catwalks you must wear a facial covering. They are asking that you still try to practice social distancing as well, whenever possible. For this reason, we have limited the amount of riders in an elevator to two. We ask that for the well being of your neighbors (especially those who are older or have underlying health issues) that you follow these guidelines.
On a personal note, I would like to remind everyone that these are your neighbors. If someone is not wearing a mask, it might be because they simply forgot. There may not be any malice in their actions. We are all human, and we are all adjusting to a very different reality right now. A little compassion and kindness can go a long way! Mental health goes hand in hand with physical health, and living in fear is not conducive to happiness. Let's all try to remain positive and optimistic through this pandemic, and keep Club Royale the amazing place it has always been! Sending love to all our residents near and far. Stay safe and we hope to see you soon! Just a reminder that maintenance fees are due on July 1st.
Sadly, it looks like this coronavirus is on the rise again in Palm Beach County. Social distancing is one of the primary ways we can all help prevent the spread of Covid-19. Please continue to keep your distance whenever you can. When it is impossible to keep 6 feet between you, make sure you are wearing a face cover / mask. Masks should be worn while in the lobbies and elevators whenever other residents are present. Our pool and gym are open, but we ask that you follow all social distancing recommendations while using them. Please help keep our community safe! To add to the fun, we are now in hurricane season. I’m attaching a checklist from the Red Cross outlining ways you can prepare in advance for a storm. If you have storm shutters, now is the time to make sure they are lubricated and functional. Please remember that during the storm all roll down sunshades must be in the “rolled up” position. They are not hurricane safe, and in high winds will peel up and fly off, becoming a very dangerous projectile. Now is also the time to go over your emergency plans with your family so everyone is on the same page. Make sure to include face coverings and hand sanitizer in your emergency kit! Our summer seasonal flowers are in, and our annual tree trimming should happen in the next couple weeks. Unfortunately, our landscape company has had several employees contract the coronavirus, and subsequently they have had to quarantine the rest of the crews that were in contact with them. Finally, just a reminder that all trash must be bagged before throwing it down the chute. This will keep our chutes clean and odor free. We have them professionally cleaned twice a year, and with your cooperation they will stay much cleaner! Also remember that all cardboard boxes must be broken down and carried down to the dumpster. Never throw cardboard boxes down the chute! Thanks for making Club Royale such a beautiful place to call home! As if Covid-19 and riots were not enough excitement for you, we are now officially in Hurricane season! NOAA predicts this will be a very active season, and we are already seeing loads of rain from Cristobal. Please make sure to review your hurricane plans, and make sure your kit is ready to go. New additions for your storm prep bag this year due to coronavirus are hand sanitizer / wipes and face coverings.
Although we are in phase 1 of re-opening after the quarantine, please don't stop taking every precaution against covid-19. Palm Beach County percent positive results are climbing again and we need everyone to remain vigilant. Practice social distancing when you can, wear face coverings when in the elevator and common areas with others, and keep hand washing and sanitizing as often as you can! We want to keep all our residents safe! One of our wonderful unit owner's is hosting a holiday party for all of our residents. If you would like to join the Weppner family, here is the info:
The holiday season is here, and I wanted to take this chance to say thank you to all of our amazing residents. I am truly grateful to get to come to work with such wonderful people! I hope you all have a blessed Thanksgiving. Here are a few pics I took today showing what a truly beautiful place Club Royale is to call home!
With hurricane season coming into full swing, we are keeping a close eye on Dorian as he gets closer to Florida. I hope you all have hurricane preparations in place. Here is a link to some recommendations from the Red Cross to help with preparedness file:///C:/Users/Clubr/Downloads/Hurricane.pdf On a happier note, we are finally getting grass on the golf course behind our community! Can't wait to see some green out there. It will be beautiful! Here is a picture of sod going in today... Speaking of storms, if you have been thinking about investing in impact windows, Wright Windows will be in our clubhouse next Tuesday night with some special offers on group pricing for Club Royale residents. Many of our owners have requested working on a group price to make windows more affordable, so now may be a good time to look into it! Here is more info on their event:
Can't believe the year is over halfway over! I hope everyone is enjoying their summer.
As many of you are aware, we have not been happy with how the walkways are holding up. In Building 2, we have had quite a bit of delamination of the concrete that is causing whole chunks of flooring to come up. After a couple months of back and forth with Hartzell I got the painting manufacturer UCI involved. They have been wonderful, and after they analyzed the wear on our walkways they helped with a letter to Hartzell. Hartzell is now going to do the correct thing, and make things right with all of our catwalks. All floors in all 3 buildings will be re-painted with new splatter coat, followed by a clear sealant that should help them hold up better to wear and cleaning. In Building 2 they will also be making repairs to the concrete. I'm so pleased, and I will keep you all updated as we confirm scheduling! (I'm attaching the letter from Hartzell confirming they are going to be making all these repairs!) Painting of the buildings by Coastal went very well. Just a few finishing touches to get everything in tip top shape. We had some rotting on the fascia in front of the office that caused our sign to fall apart. We are going to be getting a new sign there as soon as the fascia is repaired. We are also looking to replace the door numbers on the storage units to clean up their look. With all the improvements, Club Royale is becoming an even more beautiful place to call home! I received this update from Via Mizner this week, and wanted to share it with our residents. We are very happy they are back to work on the course!
Volunteers needed for PBSO's Citizen Observer Patrol. Help keep your neighborhood, and others in Boca Del Mar, safe from crime. I am attaching all the details, and if you are interested I will place you on their list. They will be actively signing you up next week! Happy Wednesday to All! Things are looking better and better around Club Royale. We have finished seal coating the parking lot. Thanks to all for cooperating, and moving vehicles as needed! Our parking lot looks much fresher. Just to answer some questions regarding what was done...we just seal coated the lot. This does not eliminate all cracks or make the asphalt look new. The only thing that would accomplish that is re-asphalting, which we will will be looking at in a few years. Seal coating is primarily a beautification process designed to freshen up the lot.
Painting on Buildings 2 & 3 is just about complete. There is a small section on the elevator stack of each building that the swing was not able to reach. They will complete those sections at the end of the job. Coastal is now starting on Building 1, and has been pressure cleaning this week in preparation of paint. After that they will paint the Storage Units, as well as the Clubhouse & Guardhouse. Our landscapers are going to be trimming trees this week to prepare for storm season. We have also cleaned up the landscaping in front of the Clubhouse. They will be putting in our seasonal flowers as soon as all the trimming is completed. We can't wait to get a little color back in the entrance. As always, we are continually trying to make Club Royale a beautiful place to call home! Our parking lot is scheduled to be seal coated beginning on May 7th. I'm attaching a site plan showing which days we will be doing each section. Please note you will need to move your vehicle out of your section while the seal coating is being applied. You will be able to move your car back the following day. We will be putting up reminders as the date gets closer. For those of you leaving town, please make sure we have a key to move your car (or a neighbor does). Thanks in advance for everyone's cooperation!
Beginning tomorrow (Wednesday, April 3rd) Coastal Painting will begin pressure cleaning your buildings in preparation of painting beginning next week. Please make sure your windows are closed to prevent water coming in. Painting will start with the walkway walls, so over the next week the painters will be covering your front door with plastic so they can paint the walls. If you need to get in or out during this process, just open your door and let them know. They should have someone on your floor keeping an eye out.
Thanks for your cooperation and patience! As many of our seasonal residents are beginning to leave for the summer, I wanted to post a reminder of what to do to prep your condo for storm season. Here is a list to help you:
Some of you may have noticed our new bench that has been installed by the exit of our community. We noticed many residents waiting for rides out there, and we wanted to give you a comfortable place to sit while waiting! I'm attaching a photo. Painting is underway on Building 3. The building has been sealed with a clear primer, and they are beginning to roll the paint on. I'm attaching a picture...I think it's looking great so far! It will be nice to have all of our buildings waterproofed before the next storm season begins (notice we do not use the "H" word around here lol).
The golf course construction is stalled on our section for now. They continue to work on other areas of the course, and some areas have already received sod. We continue to wait patiently for them to get back to our area. Finally, if I could remind our new residents (and maybe some of the older ones) that sound travels through the walls, ceilings and floors in your condominium. If you can please be considerate of your neighbors by not playing your television or music too loudly, and trying to keep other noise to a minimum especially at night. Neighborly behavior is one of the things that makes Club Royale such a beautiful place to call home. |
